Flat Tire

We were about to leave Detroit and head out towards Ann Arbor. We got to the parking lot and were about to hook the trailer back up to the minivan when we realized that the trailer had a flat tire.

This required some tools we didn't have. Elijah took two of the kids to go to Home Depot and get some tools while Izzy and I stayed behind in the parking lot and kept an eye on the trailer. Before leaving Elijah said "well it could be worse, at least it isn't raining."

Izzy and I both looked to the menacing clouds in the distance as he added, "there isn't even a sign of rain." And then Izzy and I looked at each other with surprise. But we didn't say anything.

Later as the rain clouds rolled in above us while we sat shelterless in the parking lot waiting for the others to return, we joked about how one should never say "at least it isn't raining.
